Call For Presentations

THE EVENT
CONSTRUCT is the only dedicated national event specifically designed to provide the commercial building team real-world, practical product and education solutions. CONSTRUCT 2012 will be September 11-14, 2012 at the Phoenix Convention Center in Phoenix, AZ.

COURSE SUBMISSIONS
The primary audience of the conference program includes architects, specifiers, engineers, general contractors, designers, building owners and project managers. Sessions will be 60-90 minutes in length and focus on:
• Practice – Administration; Documentation; Delivery Systems; Communication; Work Flow
• Standards – Codes; Regulations; Formats; Fundamentals; NCS
• Sustainability – Life Cycle; Energy; Water; IAQ; Health; Materials
• Personal Development – Communication Skills; Leadership; Priority Management; Self Knowledge
• Business – Marketing; Brand Development; Cash Flow; Operations; HR; Legal
• Legal – Liability; Risk Reduction; Documentation
• Design/Construction – Material Science; Building Science; Systems; Materials; Sustainability; Fire; Acoustics; Thermal Performance

SCOPE OF PRESENTATION
Course instruction must be generic in nature and not solicit product or service. Product pitches are strictly forbidden and will not be considered for inclusion in the CONSTRUCT conference program. “Lunch N’ Learns” and similar presentations are discouraged.

SELECTION PROCESS
An Education Advisory Council will review proposed topics and select courses for inclusion in the conference program based on relevancy, overall quality of submission, practical application of ideas, level of audience interaction and speaking experience. The Call for Presentations takes place in three waves.  Final selections including dates and times will be made by February 17, 2012.
• Wave One – deadline is FRIDAY, OCTOBER 28.
Presentations submitted by this date have best chance of approval and acceptance to conference program.
• Wave Two – deadline is THURSDAY, DECEMBER 22.
Presentations submitted by this date will be reviewed against topics needed to round out the program. Chance of approval and acceptance is less than WAVE ONE.
• Wave Three – deadline is FRIDAY, JANUARY 20.
Presentations submitted by this date will only be accepted on very limited basis. Submissions will need to be of exemplary nature.

IF SELECTED
Each presentation earns a speaker honorarium of $300.00 plus a $75 bonus for submitting handout materials in advance of published deadline. CONSTRUCT does not provide nor reimburse for air/ground travel nor hotel expenses.  Multiple presenters of a single presentation shall split the honorarium equally. Additionally, each presenter will receive a complimentary Speaker Registration providing access to the CONSTRUCT conference program, exhibit hall admission and special assigned events. Manufacturers/Suppliers are not paid for presentations and must be a current exhibitor of CONSTRUCT.
