Course Speaker: Stevan P. Layne
Stevan P. Layne, CPP, CIPM, CIPI is CEO and principal consultant for Layne Consultants International. He is a former police chief, public safety director and institutional security director.  Steve is also the Founding Director of the International Foundation for Cultural Property Protection (IFCPP).  He is an author of The Business Survival Guide, The Cultural Property Protection Manual, and co-author of Suggested Practices in Museum Security. 

Steve is a graduate of the FBI’s Police Management Program.  His firm is responsible for protection management planning, risk assessment, system design/specification, and officer training at over 500 public institutions, governmental agencies, cultural properties, industrial sites, retail complexes, health care facilities, lodging facilities, and more.  He serves as an expert witness in cases of due diligence, workplace violence, sexual assault, and security management.

He recently produced and directed a series of video programs for Basic Security Officer Training, and has initiated compliance training for governmental agencies and contractors.  Steve serves on national committees for the American Society for Industrial Security, American Association of Museums, CPM, and IFCPP.  He resides in Nokomis, Florida.
