Code Consideration in Fire Rated Glass

The advent of advanced fire rated glazing products that outperform wired glass in many ways has certainly given architects the ability to incorporate glass in their design like never before. This presentation empowers architects and specifiers to choose the correct code compliant glazing product for every fire rated application. This presentation will help participants distinguish between fire protective and fire resistive glass and glazing systems, interpret IBC fire code and fire rest requirements, recognize fire rating listing limitations and determine the best product value for every budget. | Vegetative Roof Assemblies – Achieving High Performance Protection | ![]() |
Vegetative Roof Assemblies (VRA) have become increasingly popular, especially in markets such as here in Chicago. The objective of this presentation is to go beyond the basics. The presentation is organized in 3-part Master Format and discusses topics relevant to both sections 071413 - Hot Fluid-Applied Rubberized Asphalt Waterproofing and 329000 – Planting. Topics to be discussed include: new trends, current industry standards, specifying VRA, importance of maintenance and critical design considerations. You cannot have a successful VRA if the roof leaks. The presentation goes into the many benefits of a fully-adhered, hot-applied, waterproofing system and recommendations to help assure that the system is properly installed and tested. AIA/CES-1LU
